When I was contacted a few weeks ago by Chris to follow through on booking her session, I was informed that the two are now engaged and that they would prefer to have the portraits include them both. That was not a problem. We arranged to meet at UWO where they had a couple of backdrops chosen. ![]() ![]() Chris had chosen an area where there were doors and windows - she said there was something about them she liked. I used this location and posed them using a trendier style. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ----------------------------------- VIDEO CLIP OF SHOOT I was fortunate to have my 3D animator buddy with me to help with fill lighting duties - and to my surprise he brought along his little Canon camera to record a bit of the process with a few clips of Video. I'm so glad he did as it is fun to watch the process, methods and explanations that I used to deal with the couple and to disarm them so that the shoot wouldn't be intimidating. I personally think it is great seeing and hearing the way they respond to me also. They were so cooperative and understanding.

This Benmiller area is know for it's beautiful fall colours. I was armed with my E-3 and 70-300mm Olympus lens - Vivid setting - Auto ISO. The first 3 shots are taken in the same vicinity. 1 ) A view down the road to the Inn where we will be working in 2 weeks (hopefully the snow stays away) f5.2 @ 1/320'th : 125ISO : 226mm FL 2 ) A home nestled along the river's edge f4.1 @ 1/200'th : 100ISO : 89mm FL ![]() 3 ) I saw this blue sign against the red leaves and liked the look f4.5 @ 1/250'th : 125ISO : 149mm FL ![]() 4 ) Banockburn Conservation area about 5 minutes from my front door f4.6 @ 1/320'th : 100ISO : 158mm FL ![]() 5 ) Tree lined (and tree covered in some areas) road leading into Banockburn f4.1 @ 1/200'th : 100ISO : 89mm FL ![]() 6 ) After checking out the shoot location, Anne and I carried on to Goderich for our walk on the boardwalk. This working Lighthouse is visible at the top of the hill f4.6 @ 1/500'th : 100ISO : 158mm FL ![]() 7 ) On the drive home, the moon was coming up over the horizon. I stopped in area where the fields looked compositionally appealing and captured this shot f6.3 @ 1/250'th : 320ISO : 104mm FL ![]() Edited on Monday October 13th, 2008 at 9:55 pm Journal Entry #94 - Posted on Monday October 13th, 2008 at 9:38 am by Robert Watcher What a perfect time of year for weddings in this part of the country - Muskoka Ontario. Kevin and Kathy were so easy going and their family and friends allowed me to work in my non-obtrusive way, capturing all of the personalities and events of the day with the resulting images appearing as if they weren't even aware of my presence. The formal images across the road from the Inn at the Golf Course, required a little more direction on my part - but still have a relaxed casual look to them. A very fun day for me. They contacted me a couple of weeks ago asking if I would provide portraits of them and their beautiful 4 month old baby boy - along with some extended family shots. They live on the edge of a conservation area and so our trek back into the treed and grassy swamp area provided wonderful settings to work with. proud daddy, caring mommy, inquisitive baby Olympus E-3 : 50-200 f2.8 SWD @ 158 (316mm) : f5.6 @ 1/160'th : 250ISO : Silver Reflector fill ![]() The men of the family - 2 Grandfathers - 3 Sons - 6 grandsons Olympus E-3 : 12-60 f2.8 SWD @ 12 (24mm) : f6.3 @ 1/125'th : 400ISO ![]() Edited on Monday October 6th, 2008 at 11:47 am Page 1 of 20
